Hi,

Ive just built a website in dreamweaver for work and we've now come up with an issue.  Accessabilty of the visually imapred means that pretty much every image has to have a description for a screen reader, would this be correct?  Meaning that I would have to go into all of the pages I have created and give each one a description?

Also in windows explorer in most sites you can go to view-text size- then select which you prefer for easier reading.  This is the part which I am stumped on and could do with any ideas of how I could possibly get this to happen in my site?

Thanks in advance for any guidence.

Hi John,

You would really only need to add image titles to the pictures within the site rather than all the graphic images. Do you have a link to the site so I can have a look at it?

I havent uploaded the site yet, just built it.  I will I assume just go to each image and then type a small description, would that be enough?  Any idea about the text becoming larger for use in explorer?

Without seeing the way the site is built it is difficult. You will need to make sure that your site is designed in such a way that allows the text to be made bigger by users without breaking the design.

ah ok, Im still a newbie too it so is there anything in particular that would hinder the text being able to do so?  I wasnt sure if it was something as simple as adding something into the CSS style for the text or if explorer picked up on certain sizes/setting of the site to establish whether the text size could be increased?

Well, a user can increase the text size from within the browser so you do not need to change the CSS at all. You may want to just try and increase the text size and see what effect it has on the site. It may be OK or it may break the site. Give it a go.

Would adding alt tag for each image be sufficient for to comply for accessability?
