Hi all,

Got my MacBook back yesterday after taking it to the local place to diagnose a blank screen. Turned out it was a known issue with the graphics card so apple fixed it for free (just as well as out of warranty). It would have cost £600 for the part alone!!! I guess they must have given me a whole new motherboard for that kind of money.

Anyway I am a happy bunny again Smiley

Apple's kinda lame when it comes to fixin stuff. My macbook broke (wireless issues) and they first claimed that the magsafe adapter was faulty so theyll have to repair that. However when i got it back they repair sheet said they replaced the whole logic board!

It still doesnt work probably now, waking from sleep mode some times produces massive kernal panics and i have to switch it off until it cools.

I dont mind because it drags me away from my computer and gets my outside (or to the pub).

I think you must have just been unlucky. The woman I spoke to at my local reseller said that Apple are really tight on who they set as approved service centres. They have a paper trail a mile long and can spring an inspection whenever they want!!
