Kev,
i think most folk on here will have more than enough basic knowledge, i'd go for the latter bud
No offence to AJB2K3, he was only answering your question(with an other question) but you can find that sort of info anywhere, if you're going to spend some of your own time on this, might as well do something useful

I'm sure what ever you do, most people will get something out of it !!

As a linux troll I see a lot of post asking about learning to make web pages on linux and most don't understand why its better to hand code things and follow specifications.

No I was answering his question with a topic suggestion not asking a question.

absolutly, but that info can be found every where, i'm only saying that Kev shouldn't waste his time on reinventing the wheel, and i really don't see any relavance to Linux.. a web page is a web page, and the process it the same (unless software specific) weather you code it on a PC, MAC, on on a Commodore 64

oh...., i see...., sorry, the question mark through me a little bit...

Yes but people that think they can ignore the rules make the web a dreadful place to live in.
It's bad enough that we have to live with the bad code rendering that MS use and bad coding that free servers use.

Hmmn Theres an interesting topic, bug fixing sites for freeservers.
